The body is in American linden and the neck is in maple, with an oval C-shaped AZ cutout, which allows easy access to the highest notes. The fingerboard is also in maple, darkened, maintaining the black character of this instrument.
The 24-fret fingerboard has rectangular acrylic and abalone markers, and fluorescent dots on the side of the fretboard. Jumbo stainless steel frets are tall and wide for greater articulation and isolation of each note.
