Boss is mainly known as a manufacturer of effects pedals for electric guitar and bass. It is currently a division of Roland Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer specializing in musical equipment and accessories. For many years Boss has manufactured a wide range of products related to effects processing for guitars, including "compact" and "twin" effects pedals, multi-effects pedals, electronic tuners and pedals. In more recent times, Boss has expanded its product range to include digital studios, drum machines, samplers and other electronic music equipment. They're also making solid state amplifiers and speaker heads, like the Waza and Katana. Both feature multi-effects units intended to emulate classic Boss effects pedals.
