The guitarist who looks at the 10 FC model immediately realizes its excellent finish. The study and research that the Alhambra has carried out for many years, is reflected in its magnificent instruments, which are able to impress the most demanding interpreters.
The 10 FC model is an example, a high-performance white flamenco guitar, fully balanced, providing a coherent sound throughout the guitar neck and a good relationship between bass and treble.
For the construction of the flamenco guitar 10 FC, a rigorous selection of the woods to be used is made. Massive Spanish cypress in the bottom and in the hoops and German cypress in the top. Ebony on the scale, luxurious golden chimes and ebony reinforcement on the cedar neck.
The ebony reinforcement is located exactly below the scale, inside the neck.
In addition, to contribute to the comfort of the instrument, the arm developed by the Alhambra, called Ergoneck, was used. An ergonomic arm that favors grip and access to scale.
As for the finish, the 10 FC model uses a glossy finish. Specifically for the worktop, a varnish with nitrocellulose lacquer is used. It is a finish that offers greater flexibility and therefore greater vibration capacity to the top.
The 10 FC model comes with two bone combs, with different heights. In this way, each guitarist can vary the action of the strings by changing the comb. The intention is to achieve a low or slightly higher action, although always fully adapted to the characteristics of the guitar.
This guitar also comes standard with a nail guard to protect the soundboard, since the technique of playing flamenco implies that you hit the soundboard (guelpe).
The original strings used are of high tension JG Flamenco Titanium, from the Royal Classics brand.
Flamenco is a traditional musical style originating in Andalusia, of Gypsy and Moorish origin, and which has existed for centuries. It is characterized by passionate singing and energetic rhythm, and by being the music of society's outcasts. In the 20th century, guitar flamenco gained expression and visibility through the hands of Paco de Lucia and Vicente Amigo, who raised flamenco art to levels only accessible to more classic and formal styles.
Alhambra is the largest and most respected manufacturer of classical and flamenco guitars in Spain. For more than 50 years he has been building his instruments out of tradition but applying new and modern manufacturing processes to craft techniques, building some of the highest quality instruments on the market.
