Made from solid koa wood, native to the Hawaiian Islands, from the body to the back and sides. The organic grain patterns of the wood give it a very natural and appealing look, contrasting with the dark tone of the African blackwood on the fingerboard. The soundboard has a discreet traditional inlaid decoration.

The neck is what differs, being constructed of mahogany, and this is also the main difference from other APC models in this line.

APC was founded in 1976 by António Pinto Coelho, who comes from a centuries-old school of luthiers in Porto. The company has about 45 artisans who build various types of traditional Portuguese and other stringed instruments. APC is the largest national company in this sector, producing and exporting instruments to more than twenty countries.
