The Yamaha JR1 Folk Acoustic Guitar is the junior version of Yamaha's legendary FG series, which marked the music of the 60s.

Yamaha's FG series of folk guitars was introduced in 1966, and proved that great musicians could compose timeless music on an affordable instrument. The guitars in this series were excellent to play, had great build quality and exceptional tone.

The Yamaha JR1 is a compact model inspired by these legendary models in the FG series and a testament to Yamaha's ability to produce cost-effective, highly reliable instruments that sound exceptionally well.

It has the same format as the FG, Traditional Western, but with a smaller size. Despite the box having less volume, the sound is very present and the timbre presents a variety of frequencies that give more consistency to its musicality.

The choice of materials also helps to increase its acoustic potential. The body is in solid spruce, and the bottom and sides are in selected local woods, as is the neck.

The 540 mm long fretboard is in rosewood, very resistant to marks and scratches caused by intensive and prolonged use. The bridge is also in this material, giving great stability and greater sustain to each note.

The JR1's finish is glossy, which enhances the natural look of the woods. The tortoiseshell nail guard gives it the aesthetic we traditionally associate with these guitars.
