APC, one of the most respected acoustic instrument manufacturers in Portugal, decided to explore the sonic possibilities of the guitalele, giving it an electrified dimension.

Half guitar, half ukulele, the guitalele has the dimensions of a baritone ukulele, and is played like a standard guitar, as the tuning is a fourth above the traditional guitar tuning: A - D - G - C - E - A .

It's like playing a normally tuned guitar, but with a transposer on the fifth fret. Or a ukulele with two more bass strings. Basically, it's a mini nylon string guitar.

The APC GT guitalele has a solid koa body, a species of acacia native to Hawaii, which gives it a very exotic and natural look, with a cutaway cutout to reach the highest notes.

For an instrument of such reduced dimensions, the APC GT guitalele has a surprising volume and sound sustainability, with a pleasant and smooth timbre, making itself heard easily, accompanying other instruments or just as a support for the voice.

The APC GT guitalele, in addition to having an excellent performance in acoustic mode, also comes with a pre-amplifier and an integrated tuner, so that they can be heard through a column or a PA, always faithfully and respecting their natural sound.

The guitalele is a practical and fun instrument that sits between the guitar and the ukulele. APC was founded in 1976 by António Pinto Carvalho, who descends from a centenary school of luthiers in Porto. The company has about 45 artisans who build different types of traditional Portuguese and other origins chordophones.
